Collateral damage

Mimi Avins’ piece on Jack Welch and his newest wife, Suzy Wetlaufer, was interesting for what it did not say [“ ‘Winning’ Team,” May 3].
I have no doubt that Jack is worth every penny he earned at General Electric, but to somehow justify all that for the emotional wreckage this guy leaves behind with his former marriages and families is not only embarrassing, it’s inexcusable. The body count around him is huge.

Jack Welch’s first book, “Straight From the Gut,” was very educational but this new book sounds like nothing but an ego trip and justification for disposing of an otherwise good wife, and I refuse to buy it.
