Re “Rice Makes Her Debut in Europe as Top Diplomat” Feb. 5. Your account has Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice speaking in a most undiplomatic manner, issuing a “thoroughgoing indictment” of the leaders of Iran, “castigating what she called their abysmal record on human rights, their murky attitude toward democratic changes.” She seems to feel that diplomacy is just another form of war rather than a way to avoid it. The only sign of the diplomat is her proven ability to lie.
