San Clemente Woman Found Fatally Shot

A San Clemente woman was found shot to death in her bed Thursday, authorities said.
“It is clearly a homicide,” Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said of the incident on the 1700 block of South Ola Vista. “It’s not a suicide because no weapon was found.”
The woman -- described only as in her 60s -- was not identified pending notification of relatives.
According to Amormino, she was found about 5 p.m. by a son who had spoken to her earlier in the week and had come to check on her.
The woman was shot once in the upper torso, Amormino said.
