* San Francisco-based jeans maker Levi Strauss & Co. has signed a letter of intent to sell its Dockers clothing brand to Vestar Capital Partners and an apparel industry executive for about $800 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Levi would not confirm the report.
* Hilton Hotels Corp., the third-largest U.S. hotel company, had its credit rating raised to the lowest investment grade by Moody’s Investors Service.
* Cingular Wireless, the second-biggest U.S. wireless carrier, said it would sell its Cingular Interactive unit to Cerberus Capital Management to focus on new technologies. Terms weren’t disclosed.
