Man Pleads Guilty in Major Healthcare Scam

A Stinson Beach man is facing a long prison term after pleading guilty to charges in what prosecutors said was a nationwide insurance scam.
John Hyde pleaded guilty to 64 counts of healthcare fraud, mail fraud and money laundering Thursday, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
In the alleged scam, Hyde and his company, Novato-based Interstate Services Inc., sold health insurance to thousands of people across the nation.
Hyde, 66, faces up to 45 years in prison just on the mail fraud counts.
