Radio One to boost Joyner

Radio One Inc., the biggest U.S. radio broadcaster focusing on black and urban audiences, agreed to buy most of Reach Media Inc., the company that owns the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” for about $56 million.
Joyner’s radio show is broadcast on 115 U.S. stations to about 8 million listeners. Radio One, which already airs the show on 15 of its 69 stations, will syndicate Joyner in an undisclosed number of new markets. The program hasn’t had a Los Angeles outlet for several years.
