Violent Storm Leaves Death, Damage Behind

Heavy rain flooded streets, lightning ignited homes, high winds tore roofs off buildings and large hailstones fell as a powerful storm system swept across parts of Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio.
At least one traffic death in Ohio was attributed to flooding, and two people died when trees crashed onto automobiles in Michigan.
The storm system, spawning numerous lightning strikes, left hundreds of thousands without power across the region. In western Michigan, lightning struck transformers, setting several buildings on fire.
