Animated (May 21)
DreamWorks
With: Voices by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Julie Andrews, John Cleese, Antonio Banderas, Rupert Everett, Jennifer Saunders
The idea: The newlywed ogres visit Fiona’s parents and skewer more familiar fairy tales in the process.
Directors: Andrew Adamson, Kelly Asbury, Conrad Vernon
The first one is a tough act to follow, but the sequel promises many laughs at the expense of in-laws, cats, blind mice, fairy godmothers, ugly stepsisters, snooty clerks, Beverly Hills and other pinnacles of pop culture. And yes, the Gingerbread Man is back.
