$2.25 Billion in State Bonds Sold in 2 Days

Individual investors placed orders to buy a record $2.25 billion of California bonds by the close of business Tuesday.
Institutional investors will get a chance to buy the rest of the nearly $7.9 billion in deficit bonds when the market opens today.
“The sale is going very well,” state Treasurer Phil Angelides said at the end of a two-day period in which California residents could order the bonds.
