The founding family of 77-year-old Temple B’nai B’rith has donated $2 million to the synagogue, its largest gift ever.
Daniel Hochman, a grandson of founding temple members Lester and Viola Girsh, said his family was inspired to give the gift so the temple can continue its work “from generation to generation,” in good times and bad.
Congregation B’nai B’rith will dedicate the temple sanctuary in the family’s name during a celebration May 14. The gift will seed the congregation’s $10-million endowment fund campaign.
