From Times Wire Reports
A fire prompted the evacuation of portions of the Imperial Palace hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip, but there were no reports of injuries.
About 80 firefighters were called to the hotel property shortly before 6 p.m., said fire spokesman Bob Leinbach. A portion of Las Vegas Boulevard was closed to traffic.
The fire appeared to begin near an escalator between the third and fifth floors, said Jeremy Handel, a hotel spokesman. Guest rooms were not evacuated, but casino patrons were ordered to leave, Handel said.
