A small airplane crashed into a Dallas residential area shortly after taking off from Addison Field, setting two houses afire and killing both people in the plane, officials said. The disabled resident of one house was rescued by his caregiver.
The cause of the crash wasn’t known, but the weather was rainy and foggy and the pilot of the single-engine 1975 Bellanca, which was bound for Amarillo, reported having problems.
The identities of the pilot and other person in the plane were not disclosed.
The plane hit a vacant corner house, then skidded across the street, ending up in the garage of a second home, said Deputy Fire Chief Lester Mount.
