2 Want Council to Oppose MTA Appeal

City Council members Antonio Villaraigosa and Martin Ludlow proposed Tuesday that Los Angeles formally oppose the MTA board’s action Monday to appeal a court order to buy more buses and boost service on overcrowded bus lines. Both men are members of the MTA board.
The motion also calls on the CEO of the MTA to report to the City Council on progress in complying with the consent decree, and to list how much money has been spent in trying to appeal.
