Inmates Release Prison Guard and Surrender

A corrections officer was released from the prison guard tower where a pair of inmates had held her for two weeks, and the inmates surrendered, Corrections Department spokeswoman Cam Hunter said.
The woman and a male officer were taken hostage Jan. 18 at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis. The man was released Jan. 24.
Officials identified the inmates as Ricky Wasenaar, 40, and Steven Coy, 39. Both were convicted of crimes including aggravated assault and armed robbery.
