Man Kills Former Girlfriend, Then Himself

A man fatally shot his former girlfriend Thursday in a park near a youth baseball game and then killed himself, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 5 p.m. at Skytower Park, near 32nd Street East and Avenue K-4, said sheriff’s Deputy Bill Spear.
The man approached his ex-girlfriend and shot her several times, Spear said. He then turned the gun on himself and fired one round.
The man died at the scene. The woman died at a hospital.
