Former Mayoral Aides Under Investigation
Two former aides to San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales face a complaint that they allegedly lobbied for a controversial real estate project less than one year after leaving their jobs at City Hall.
The San Jose city attorney’s office has filed a complaint against Tony Arreola and Sharanjit “Sean” Kali-Rai for working on the Tropicana Shopping Center redevelopment project. The complaint alleges that the companies where the two former aides worked may have received $326,500 in a complicated real estate transaction that may have occurred before one year had passed.
The two ex-aides deny they acted improperly.
