Director Mira Nair will be a guest director at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June, hosting a filmmaker retreat and selecting a program of films that have inspired her work.
Nair, a native of India best known for directing “Monsoon Wedding” (2001), is finishing her latest film, “Vanity Fair,” a new version of the Thackery novel that stars Reese Witherspoon as social climber Becky Sharp.
The festival lineup, including the Nair program, will be announced in May.
