Second Suspect Held in Kidnap Attempt

Police arrested a man in a Friday night robbery-kidnap in which an officer earlier shot another suspect.
Armando Simmons, 19, of Buena Park was caught by police about half a mile from the scene.
Victor Gonzales, 19, of Cypress was wounded in a leg when police responded earlier to a reported kidnapping in the 6800 block of Manchester Boulevard.
An unidentified employee of the House of Imports car dealership was leaving work about 8 p.m. when he was confronted by two men, police said.
He said they forced him into his car and ordered him to drive to an ATM. On the way, the man began struggling with his captors and was hit in the face. A passerby alerted police.
