Re “America’s Prisoners at Guantanamo Bay,” letters, May 19: Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Victoria Clarke says of the 600-odd “enemy combatants” being held without benefits of trial or coverage by the Geneva Convention that “the detainees are well fed, free to practice their religion and receive some of the best medical care in the world.”
Remarkable. All well fed and receiving world-class medical care. That’s more than you can say about many American citizens. Good to know where this administration’s priorities lie.
