More CNN faces, shows bid farewell

More year-end changes are taking place at CNN, following a recent announcement that correspondents Allan Dodds Frank and Mark Potter are leaving. The most notable departure is Garrick Utley, who told the network he wanted to leave to pursue a PBS project.
Other departures, some because contracts weren’t renewed and others because the jobs were moved to new locations, include Washington correspondents Brooks Jackson and Rea Blakely, San Francisco-based James Hatori and business anchor Bruce Francis.
In addition, the weekend business shows “Pinnacle” and “Business Unusual” have been canceled and will be replaced with a single new business show.
A CNN spokeswoman said Friday that a network the size of CNN is always going to have staffing changes and noted that four correspondents have recently been hired, with more hirings to follow.
