Former Sony Pictures Vice President Georgette Sue Studnicka and another woman were convicted of stealing nearly half a million dollars from the entertainment company, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office announced.
Studnicka, 62, of Chatsworth, and Linda Sue Brooks, 56, of La Crescenta, are scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 3. Studnicka, who also was convicted of four counts of state income tax evasion, faces a possible maximum seven-year prison term.
Brooks, who was convicted of one count of grand theft, faces a possible maximum five-year term.
Authorities say Studnicka, who oversaw the sale and lease of music used in movies, improperly issued payments to a company created by Brooks. The pair then split the proceeds, authorities said.
