Princess Is a Star

Regarding Herb Rosenzweig’s comments on the Star Princess (“Cruise Columnists Missed the Boat,” Letters, May 12): My wife and I were passengers on the inaugural cruise from Singapore to Los Angeles in February and March, and our experience was the opposite of his.
Everything about the ship, waiters, dining room, buffets, mini-suites, room stewards, lounges and especially the food were superior to what we expected. I was not a fan of Princess Cruises in the ‘70s, but today they deserve credit for a job well done.
I too have taken many cruises--this was my 22nd--and I place Princess as the best value in the business. We have always praised Crystal Cruises for the superb job it does, but why pay extra when Princess gives us what we desire for far less money?
