Big-Rig Driver Killed in Crash, Fire on Freeway

A big-rig driver died Saturday in a crash that trapped him inside his burning cab, the California Highway Patrol said.
The tractor-trailer was northbound on the Golden State Freeway near Quail Lake Road, when it veered off the road and crashed about 2:15 a.m.
The cab caught fire and the driver was unable to escape, authorities said.
The wreck and investigation closed the freeway’s right lane for at least eight hours, officials said.
The victim’s identity was not available.
