Moved by Moby

How fortunate for Robert Hilburn to have spent hundreds of hours with Richard Melville Hall (Moby) during his promotional stint for “18” (“What Do You See, Moby?” May 12).
I am originally from Hawthorne (home of the Beach Boys, in case you didn’t know). I owned a music studio in Gardena last year. Local South Bay punk bands would perform on the weekends. I had to let that business venture go due to certain legalities.
In desperate pursuit of work, I recently moved out to Palm Springs as a waiter, and I am now working as a marketing director at an art gallery in nearby Palm Desert.
I was very much inspired by your documentation of Moby’s music-making ethic: “When fans ask how to succeed as a musician, my answer is harsh. I tell them not to do anything else.”
I realize that this is exactly what I must do--daily.

Moby is the biggest fraud foisted on the music industry in ages.
He neither sings well nor writes very good songs. I’m amazed that he’s getting over.
Good videos, though.
