Rates for 30-year mortgages held steady this week, while rates for 15-year and one-year adjustable-rate mortgages fell, Freddie Mac said.
The average interest rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages was 6.71% this week, unchanged from the previous week, which marked the lowest rate this year on 30-year mortgages.
Fifteen-year mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, dipped to 6.17% this week, down slightly from 6.18% the week before.
On one-year adjustable-rate mortgages, lenders were asking an average initial rate of 4.67%, down from 4.71% the previous week.
These mortgage rates do not include add-on fees, known as points.
