Man Beaten to Death on Lawn in Midafternoon

A man was beaten to death Wednesday on a lawn outside an apartment complex, police said.
The killing outside the Park Parthenia apartments in the 19000 block of Bryant Street was reported at 3:41 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Lt. Timothy Moss.
Four men were seen running from the area, but no immediate arrests were made, Moss said. The complex has been the site of gang violence in the past, but it was unclear whether the killing was gang-related, he said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (877) 529-3855.
