* McDonald’s Corp. has agreed to donate $10 million to Hindu and other groups to settle lawsuits filed against the chain for mislabeling French fries and hash browns as vegetarian. The oil used to prepare the fries and hash browns contained essence of beef for flavoring purposes.
* Expedia Inc. and Ticketmaster plan to share software to allow travelers to plan trips and buy event tickets on one Web site. The companies, controlled by Barry Diller’s New York-based USA Interactive e-commerce company, will offer the services under a link on Ticketmaster’s Citysearch Web site, to be called Getaways Channel.
* Petsmart Inc.’s first-quarter net income rose to $22.1 million, or 17 cents a share, from $1.24million, or 1 cent, a year earlier. Sales increased 11% to $645.8million. Sales at stores open at least a year gained 12%, boosted by revenue from services such as grooming and training.
