Enemies of the State

Re Jonathan Turley’s Aug. 14 commentary, “Camps for Citizens: Ashcroft’s Hellish Vision”: Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft’s latest proposal (which, of course, has received little publicity) brings to mind the Hitler and Stalin regimes. It also shows that we do not learn from history. Camps for U.S. citizens remind me of German and Russian camps prior to and during World War II. If there is even the least suspicion that anyone “may” be against the current administration, declare him an enemy and toss him into a camp without due process.
I guess we can be thankful that Ashcroft has at least informed us of his intentions and warned us to be like the monkeys and “see, hear and speak no evil” about what this administration has in mind for us.
