Afghan Leaders Request Meeting on Investigation

Afghanistan’s Taliban leaders have asked for a special meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to discuss the terrorist attacks in the United States and “help in getting the culprits,” a Taliban official said.
Pakistani officials said the meeting would probably be held Oct. 9 in Doha, Qatar. Foreign Ministry spokesman Riaz Mohammed Khan said Pakistan planned to attend.
“We have urged both the OIC and the United Nations to investigate the matter and help in getting the culprits,” said Sohail Shaheen, a spokesman of the Taliban embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital.
