From Times Wire Reports
Chief Justice Roy Moore rejected a request to place a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial next to Moore’s Ten Commandments statue in the state Supreme Court building in Montgomery.
But the chief justice said he will put up a plaque at his own expense.
“The placement of a speech of any man alongside the revealed law of God would tend in consequence to diminish the very purpose of the Ten Commandments Monument,” Moore said in a letter.
Black legislators involved in the issue were not satisfied.
