The National Assn. of Realtors has established the Realtors Housing Relief Fund to help pay the mortgage and rental costs of families devastated by the terrorist attacks Tuesday in New York City and Washington, D.C.
NAR President Richard Mendenhall urged Realtors nationwide to contribute to the fund, either through their state and local associations or directly to NAR, which made an initial contribution of $1 million to open the fund.
Families of victims--including fire, law enforcement and other emergency personnel--are eligible for help through the Realtors Housing Relief Fund, which began accepting donations Wednesday. Call (800) 874-6500 for details and to make contributions.
