Applications will be accepted through Friday for disaster-response training being offered by the Simi Valley Police Department.
Adults who work or live in Simi Valley and are willing to assist the community after major disasters are encouraged to apply. Upon completion of five courses, participants become members of the city’s Community Emergency Response Team.
Training started after the 1994 Northridge earthquake to give residents and businesses the ability to become self-reliant in the wake of disasters.
