Buddy Hackett will host a fund-raiser for Singita, a 22-acre animal refuge in Sylmar, at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles.
The annual benefit concert of comedy and music also features comedians Jeffrey Ross and Paul Rodriguez, as well as Harvey Korman, George Segal and jazzman Jack Sheldon.
Singita, an African word meaning “the miracle,” was founded by Hackett’s wife, Sherry. The refuge is a no-kill, non-cage shelter that will include a 10,000-square-foot facility for cats, with plans to build a similar facility for dogs.
Proceeds from this year’s benefit will go toward building the cat facility, Hackett said.
Tickets for the fund-raiser are $200, $125 and $75. A wine and cheese reception at 7 will precede the concert.
The Wilshire Ebell is located at 4401 W. 8th St.
