For the Last Time: These Teams Moved

This is an open letter to the Fox and CBS television networks: Gentlemen: I would like to thank your respective networks for, every week, televising Ram and Raider games in Southern California, even though (a) these teams left our fair city long ago and (b) most fans no longer care about either one of them.

By your insistence on showing these games, you have let me get my husband away from the TV set on Sundays, providing us with some quality time together and even allowing him the time to do some things around the house that I’ve needed to have done.

This Sunday was a great example. Instead of showing the best game of the week, the champion Baltimore Ravens against this year’s best team, the Denver Broncos, or even showing the interesting matchup between the resurgent Bengals and Chargers, you persevered and put on the Raiders against the overmatched Seahawks.

Fantastic! My husband and I were able to enjoy a lovely Southern California afternoon together and he was able to take care of some of those nagging chores. Thank you soooo very much!
