An eighth-grade student at Belvedere Middle School in East Los Angeles was seriously injured in a fall from an auditorium attic, school officials said Friday.
The student, whose name was not released, was in stable condition at County-USC Medical Center.
School officials said their investigation of the Thursday accident would continue into next week. They were not yet able to ask the boy why he was in the attic, nor had they determined whether he broke in or gained access because of lax safety procedures.
