Taft 42, Roosevelt 13--Despite holding the ball for less than six minutes, Taft rolled up 35 first-half points en route to the victory.

Noah Smith scored on the opening drive with a 33-yard run during the first of several big plays in the absence of standout receiver, Steve Smith, who nursed a sore left shoulder. Noah Smith also had touchdown receptions of 43, 25 and 32 yards.

Justin Tryon finished with 130 rushing yards, including a 68-yard scoring sprint, for Taft, and quarterback Cary Dove passed for 190 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for a score.
