Orange Lutheran 34, Cerritos Valley Christian 6--Ryan Cecil rushed for two touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another as defending Olympic League champion Orange Lutheran (6-1-2, 2-0) clinched at least a share of this year’s crown.
Quarterback Casey Whieldon connected with Chaz Guinn on an 82-yard scoring pass on the Lancers’ second play from scrimmage. Cecil scored on a 19-yard run with 8:49 remaining in the half to give Orange Lutheran a 13-0 lead.
Valley Christian (6-2, 1-1) traveled 80 yards in 10 plays with Chase Twedell scoring on a two-yard run to make the score 13-7.
Cecil took the ensuing kickoff at the 10-yard line and sprinted, untouched, 90 yards for a touchdown to make the score 20-6 at halftime. Cecil also scored on an 11-yard run with 3:59 remaining in the third quarter and finished with 151 yards in 15 carries.
