A West Covina judge ordered a Texas man Wednesday to stand trial on charges that he threw a business associate off a hotel balcony in Industry Hills.
Robert Lee Salazar, 37, is due back in court June 22 in Pomona to be arraigned, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office. Salazar, held on $1-million bail, said he was having consensual sex with Sandra Orellana, 27, when she fell off the balcony in November 1996. Salazar was arrested four years after Orellana’s death.
