Not Guilty Plea in Killing of Professors
One of two teenagers charged with murdering a husband and wife who taught at Dartmouth College pleaded not guilty.
Robert Tulloch, 17, said nothing beyond his plea during his Grafton County Superior Court arraignment. Led into the courtroom, he looked briefly at members of his family--father, brother and sister--and showed no emotion as a court clerk read two charges of first-degree murder.
No bail was set; Tulloch remains in the county jail. The trial is not expected to begin before February.
Tulloch and James Parker, 16, both of Chelsea, Vt., are charged with murdering Half, 62, and Susanne Zantop, 55, in their home Jan. 27. The prosecution declined again to comment on a motive in the case.
