Barclay Announces Dance Series

The Irvine Barclay Theatre will open its 2001-02 Contemporary Dance Series with the San Francisco-based Joe Goode Performance Group, Oct. 11-12.
The season will continue with the Mark Morris Dance Group (Jan. 24-26); Hubbard Street Chicago under its new artistic director, Jim Vincent (March 8-9); and the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band paying tribute to choreographer Donald McKayle (April 4-5). Specific programs will be announced.
All performances will be at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, 4242 Campus Drive, and will start at 8 p.m. Series tickets: $130. Single ticket prices will be announced in September, when those tickets go on sale.
Subscribers to the series will get 20% off single ticket prices to the New World Flamenco Festival, Aug. 10-19, at the Irvine theater.
Companies appearing at the flamenco festival include Compania Domingo Ortega (Aug. 10-11), Yaelisa and Caminos Flamencos (Aug. 14-15) and Compania Belen Maya (Aug. 17-18). All programs begin at 8 p.m. Single ticket: $24 to $35.
