SPORT: Track and field
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Felix was among the top 200-meter sprinters in the nation during the recently completed indoor season and was a runaway winner in the 100 and 200 in the Northridge-Alemany Relays at Cal State Northridge on Saturday.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Felix, who began running track last year, clocked a school-record 11.82 in the 100 and a season-best 24.05 in the 200 at Northridge while running into a breeze in each race. Her time in the 100 bettered her previous best of 12.19 and moved her to 10th on the all-time region list. Her time in the 200 was .15 seconds off her best, but came into a 1.6 meter-per-second wind. “I had a lot of things to work on after last year,” Felix said. “Especially my start and running the curve.”
