Boyd Slams the Door on San Fernando

Freshman Chad Boyd’s one-out grand slam was part of a six-run third inning for El Camino Real High in a 6-5 victory over San Fernando on Thursday in a nonleague baseball game at El Camino Real.
Greg Acheatel earned his second save in two days for the Conquistadores (5-2), allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts.
Will Savage (3-0) allowed three runs--two earned--on four hits in 4 1/3 innings with one strikeout and one walk.
Ruben Jimenez had two hits and two runs batted in for San Fernando (5-2).
Cleveland 10, Grant 0--Byron Grubman (3-0) allowed three hits and struck out four while throwing 61 pitches in a nonleague game that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Cleveland.
Grubman also had two hits and three RBIs for Cleveland (6-1).
Village Christian 12, La Salle 2--Danny Bowman (3-0) lost his no-hitter and his shutout in the fifth inning of the nonleague game at Village Christian (5-1) that was called after five because of the 10-run rule.
Bowman, who finished with a two-hitter, struck out seven and walked three.
Ian Martin had two hits and four RBIs.
