Through the Years
A closer look at Isiah Thomas’ career:
* U.S. gold medal winner at Pan-American Games in 1979.
* Selected to 1980 U.S. Olympic team before a U.S. boycott of Moscow Games.
* Two-time first team All-Big Ten player at Indiana, leading Hoosiers to NCAA title in 1981.
* Second overall pick by Detroit in 1981 draft behind DePaul’s Mark Aguirre.
* Named All-NBA first or second team for five consecutive seasons from 1983-1987.
* Played in NBA All-Star game 12 times; named game’s MVP in 1984 and 1986.
* Won two NBA titles, beating Lakers in 1989 and Portland in 1990 finals.
* Named Toronto Raptor vice president of basketball operations and part owner in 1994.
* Owned and operated the CBA from 1999 to 2000.
