In another I-AA first-round game:
Valencia 65, Righetti 43--Stephanie Patterson had 20 points and three blocked shots to lead the Vikings at Valencia.
Marissa Meadows had 14 points and Rashae Minor had four steals for Valencia (21-6).
DIVISION I-AAA
Oxnard 66, Santa Maria 54--Jacqui Heck scored 15 points and the Yellowjackets won a second-round game at Oxnard.
Heck also had eight rebounds and held Santa Maria’s top scorer, Jennifer Lopez, to six points.
Oxnard (15-11) outscored the Saints, 19-8, in the second quarter.
DIVISION I-A
Buena 81, Simi Valley 36--The Bulldogs took a 13-0 lead and Courtney Young scored 10 of her 27 points in the first quarter in a second-round game at Buena.
Courtney LaVere had 18 points and Kelly Greathouse scored 14 for Buena (26-0), the top-ranked team in the nation.
Saugus 58, Edison 48--Sheridan Arredondo had 17 points and 19 rebounds for the Centurions in a victory at Saugus.
Jessie Loring added 16 points for Saugus (21-5).
Ventura 71, Huntington Beach 61--Jenni Dooley finished with 25 points, including six three-point baskets, and helped host Ventura set a region record for three-point baskets in a season.
The Cougars (20-5), who made 16 three-pointers, have 224 this season. Katy O’Brien finished with 21 points and seven assists, and Meggie Wegger and Kelly Fay each had 11 points for Ventura.
DIVISION II-A
Newbury Park 64, San Luis Obispo 61--The Panthers opened a 52-42 lead after three quarters and held on for a second-round victory at Newbury Park.
Alex Mallen had 16 points and four steals to lead Newbury Park (21-7), and Rachel Hever finished with 13 points and six assists and Cassandra Harris scored 13.
