Christian Comedy Movie Unveiled

The Minnesota-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn. recently took the wraps off its new Christian comedy film, “Road to Redemption,” at a premiere in North Hollywood.
A limited theater release of the film is planned for Feb. 16 and March 9. The two-phase release is part of a strategy by the association’s movie arm, World Wide Pictures, to return its evangelical Christian productions to the big screen after more than a decade’s absence.
The movie blends classic Hollywood road-trip elements with overtly evangelical themes: The secretary of a Las Vegas mobster is desperate to stave off debt and makes contact with a long-lost grandfather who is rich, ill--and suddenly religious.
“Road to Redemption” comes with a production price tag of $2.2 million, said Barry Werner, World Wide director of operations and executive in charge of production for the film.
