El Toro Stuns Top-Ranked Dana Hills

Visiting El Toro clinched third place in the South Coast League by upsetting top-ranked Dana Hills, 2-1, in boys’ soccer Thursday at Dana Hills.
Matt Rolfe and Dennis Giakos scored 10 minutes apart in the second half to give the Chargers (12-9-2, 5-4-1) a two-goal lead with 20 minutes remaining.
Forrest Smith scored with five minutes left for the Dolphins (20-2-3, 8-1-1), who suffered their first league loss.
In another South Coast League game:
No. 5 Capistrano Valley 2, Trabuco Hills 1--Jonathan Brown and Jeff Serrafini had second-half goals for second-place Capistrano Valley (20-4-5, 7-1-2).
Houtan Malayeri had a goal for Trabuco Hills (10-10-4, 4-5-1).
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 2, Fullerton 1--Host Sonora (16-4-2, 8-0-2) clinched the league title when Alan Valdez scored in the 78th minute off a Kyle Warsinski assist. Warsinski opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute before Joel Alexander tied it for Fullerton (14-5-3, 8-1-1) in the 30th minute.
In the Olympic League:
Calvary Chapel 1, Orange Lutheran 0--Taylor Hill scored in the 55th minute for the second-place Eagles (9-11-1, 6-3-1). Orange Lutheran is 9-10-3, 5-3-2.
In Orange League girls’ water polo:
Brea Olinda 11, Western 7--Jolene Wagner scored two of her three goals in the first quarter as host Brea Olinda (18-8, 8-0) jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Alley Kane and Lisa McKinley also scored three goals as the Wildcats wrapped up their third consecutive league title.
In the South Coast League:
No. 4 Capistrano Valley 17, Trabuco Hills 3--Clare Meadows scored four goals and Amber and Aimee Stachowski added three each for the Cougars (20-6-1, 4-0), who won their second league title in three years. Trabuco Hills is 6-14, 0-5.
No. 5 El Toro 18, Dana Hills 3--Ke’ala Carter’s five goals gave her a school-record 81 for the season as the Chargers (21-6, 4-1) set a school record for regular-season wins. Katie Hedley added four goals.
San Clemente 10, Mission Viejo 5--Visiting San Clemente (18-8, 3-2) clinched third place and a playoff spot with the win. Christina Kuno had four goals, Kristi Peter scored three and goalie Brittany Epperson made 12 saves.
In nonleague:
Rosary 9, Cypress 4--Jessica Farano scored four goals, including two in a four-goal third period for the Royals (10-16). Tahnee Emmons scored twice for Cypress (9-19).
