Re “Smarter Driver’s Licenses,” editorial, Dec. 20: So what about people who do not drive and have no legal licenses? There has to be a more inclusive system, such as a national identity card. This could contain your driver’s license information along with your Social Security number but not any other personal information. And, yes, the thumbprint is a good idea.
