1. Aliso Niguel (2-0-0, SS-Sea View)
Started season with victory against an injury-riddled Corona del Mar squad, but gets a chance to validate top ranking this week.
2. Santa Margarita (3-0-0, SS-Serra)
Eagles face tough setback: UCLA-bound Katie Rivera tore an anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for rest of season.
3. Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley (1-0, SS-South Coast)
Crushed Marina, 6-0, but will gain better barometer of strength today against Arcadia.
4. Irvine Woodbridge (2-1-0, SS-Sea View)
Can rebound from loss to Dana Hills today against Esperanza.
5. Arcadia (3-0-0, SS-Pacific)
Young team looks to defend its Mater Dei tournament title.
6. Ventura Buena (0-0-0, SS-Channel)
Goal is to get back to title game of Mater Dei tournament.
7. Newport Harbor (1-1-0, SS-Sea View)
Lost to an up-and-coming Edison squad.
8. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (4-0, SS-Mission)
Needed to test talent at Mater Dei tournament, instead will settle for doing well this weekend at South Torrance.
9. Corona del Mar (0-2-0, SS-Pacific Coast)
Losses to Times’ top two teams no reason to drop out of rankings.
10. Anaheim Esperanza (2-0, SS-Sunset)
Aztecs’ start strong: score seven goals and allow none under direction of their new coach, John King.
