De Klerk’s Ex-Wife Strangled, Autopsy Finds

An autopsy on the body of Marike de Klerk, the ex-wife of apartheid South Africa’s last president, Frederik W. de Klerk, revealed that she had been strangled, police said.
De Klerk’s body was discovered Tuesday at her Cape Town home.
The autopsy also revealed that De Klerk, 64, had a shallow stab wound in her back, but it was not the cause of death, police spokesman Wicus Holtzhauzen said.
