Cal Lutheran Hires Basketball Coach

Kristy Hopkins, a two-sport standout at Pepperdine from Walnut High, has been hired as women’s basketball coach at Cal Lutheran.
Hopkins was a four-year starter for the Waves’ basketball team, earning All-West Coast Conference honorable mention twice and making the WCC all-freshman team. She ranks sixth at Pepperdine in assists, seventh in steals and 11th in scoring.
She was an assistant coach for two years at Pepperdine after graduating. Hopkins twice lettered in golf and was the women’s golf coach for two seasons at Pepperdine.
She replaces Tim La Kose, who left the program for Cal State Bakersfield.
